Workshop for teachers of Danish at International schools
Dear Teachers of Danish
We hope that those of you teaching the younger classes are enjoying using the new Danish book ‘Skal vi tale dansk?’
The work on this book was started by yourselves, the Danish teachers from the International Schools, at a workshop in Autumn 2014 in Nyborg. Since that initial work, the book has been fully written by Eja Klaj and now published by Alfabeta.
We very much hope this will become a key resource in the teaching of Danish for core/beginner Danish language learners in your schools. The target group is core learners age 7 to 11 although it could also be used outside this age group.
Last December, some of you attended a workshop in Nyborg on how to implement this resource into your teaching.
This time, our focus will be on Active Learning throughout the school; on implementing classroom practice that keeps everyone actively engaged. We will look at various methodologies and at how to differentiate for the many levels within our classes.
With this in mind, we would like to invite all teachers of Danish to a workshop at Hotel Storbælt, Nyborg on Thursday 24th January 2018 from 09:00 to 15:45.
The aim of the workshop is also to engage further with resources for using the book ´Skal vi tale dansk?´ as a tool for Danish teaching and learning, including looking at ways to assess progress.
A further aim is to look beyond the book to the 11 to 14 age range and to explore tools and strategies to implement with these students, and look at where further resources need to be developed.
To sign up, please use the link HERE by 14th December 2018.
